Notes

Rockford Fosgate’s T3 19” driver is an excellent example of cutting edge bass driver engineering. It offers best of the best performance in nearly every metric: total displacement, linearity, durability, distortion, inductance management and thermal power handling. Of course something has to give somewhere and the result is a driver which weighs 70lbs, is nearly 18” deep from surround to bottom of the frame, sports a 1kg moving mass and has an MSRP of a wallet shriveling $2499. However the T3 19” driver does seem to combine a rare set of attributes that few others do. The oddest thing about it is that without equalization it has a very dry and punchy sound, not at all like what you expect from looking at it. If you didn’t know what you were listening to, most would likely guess that they were listening to a pro audio midbass or woofer, as the low distortion and frequency response profile most resemble that style of driver. This is at odds with the 1kg moving mass but there it is. Those types of drivers do not have the displacement to produce deep bass like the T3 19 does though. With equalization the T3 19 has the displacement and power handling to be shaped into whatever is required for the job at hand.
